Dr Lourens and Aletta Toerien planted Gateway Family Church in Pretoria over 20 years ago. We are passionate about “life applicational Christianity,” and our mission is to establish God’s kingdom in our lives every day, not just through empty religion. We believe in the power of the fivefold ministry and are dedicated to being change agents in our community, impacting individuals, families, and the business sector. Our core values of truth, freedom, love, and integrity are at the heart of everything we do.
Young Adults
We empower our young adults in their Grade 12 year with the ‘Big Brag.’ Celebrating their uniqueness, giving each one a special word from God, and blessing them for life ahead.
Children’s Church
Our parents invest in and guide the youngest Gateway members in the Children’s Church. Here they learn about God’s unconditional love and the principles of the Word in a fun way.
Home Cell
The Gateway home groups meet weekly or bi-weekly. It is a safe place for members to grow together, spend time in fellowship and encourage one another through genuine friendship and God’s Word.
Milestones
Our family-oriented church is a part of each member’s life and spiritual journey – from baptism to weddings to christenings. So we celebrate the victory and the journey that got us to each personal milestone.
