At Gateway Family Church, we believe that every season – both in nature and in our lives – has a purpose in God’s perfect plan.
As winter settles in around us here in Pretoria, we see bare branches and feel the chill in the air. It can feel like everything is quiet, dormant, or even a little lifeless. But just like the natural seasons, our spiritual lives also go through times that may feel cold and empty.
Yet winter is not a mistake – it’s a time of preparation. The quiet, cold months are when roots grow deeper, hidden beneath the surface. It’s in these seasons that God often does His most powerful work in our hearts. He draws us closer, teaching us to trust Him even when the landscape seems bare.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Winter’s stillness prepares us for the spring to come – for fresh growth, renewal, and the blossoming of new dreams. In your own life, if you’re in a “winter season” right now, be encouraged. God is working in ways you may not see. He is strengthening your roots so that, when spring arrives, you’ll stand strong and flourish.
